I find your arguments appealing, and I won't defend a cause already lost. Just want to add, there's no way to get rid off subjectivity, neither in this case, nor in science generally; for example, choosing appropriate specifiers is not always an easy task. Especially, if a topology of a given group is unsettled and many competing hypotheses exist. A specific choice might then have a great impact on future content of a grouping. Dawid

Some further thoughts. I don't know if and when my Department is going tu purchase a copy (or copies) of the two books. It's hard to be part of a revolution if you don't know the rules. Many might face this.
