In the cited article one will find on page 13 the following line in italics:
"To comply with Article 8.6 of the International Code of Zoological
Nomenclature, this journal is deposited in ten archival libraries and is also
available in CD format from www.PalArch.nl."
Am I correct in interpreting the above statements (email & pdf) to the effect
that the journal is deposited in printed form in 10 unidentified libraries?
Art. 8.6. of the said Code states:
"For a work produced after 1999 by a method other than printing on paper to be
accepted as published within the meaning of the Code, it must contain a
statement that copies (IN THE FORM IN WHICH IT IS PUBLISHED) have been
deposited in at least 5 major publicly accessible libraries WHICH ARE
IDENTIFIED BY NAME IN THE WORK ITSELF." [original text with my upper case
lettering].
As PalArch Papers in Vertebrate Paleontology as of today do not fulfill the
criteria for valid publication, "Gigantatypus salahi" is and will remain
unavailable for nomenclatural purposes.
Hopefully this issue can be fixed, soon.
Sincerely
Markus Moser
