Dinosaur TV Week

Here are some highlights of U.S. national television programming
concerning dinosaurs, other prehistoric animals and evolution, all
times Eastern (check local listings as coverage of the activity of a
certain executive zipper may preempt normal programming):
Thursday, September 17
Discovery Channel, 8:00pm
Jurassic Survivors
My TV guide announces that turtles, lizards, snakes, crocodiles and
"even birds" are dinosaur relatives. I wonder: will this be an
interesting review of prehistoric relatives of modern reptiles or a
documentary on reptiles masquerading as someting else to cash in on
dinomania?
Thursday, September 17/Friday, September 18
Discovery Channel, Midnight
Jurassic Survivors
Saturday, September 19
Cinemax, 9:00pm
Super Mario Brothers
What this is, God only knows. Apparently a movie based on a video
game (as all cinematic classics indeed are) about plumbers who save a
princess from a "dinosaur world in the sewer." Strangely enough, Bob
Hoskins is in it.
Sunday, September 20
Discovery Channel, 9:00am
Bonehead Detectives of the Paleoworld
Children's show about Paleontology. This episode: "Who's the
Baddest?" -- search for the "most savage dinosaur."
Helping to spread the disinformation,
