FAQ: Membership to SVP
There have been some inquiries about membership in the Society of
Vertebrate Paleontologists (SVP). Here is what I know about it:
First off, to join SVP you must be sponsored by someone who is
already a member. If you do not know anyone who belongs to SVP,
contact the Society (see below) and they will attempt to assign a
member to sponsor you.
The membership application was not available at the October SVP
conference. It was undergoing a revision at that time and was
made available at the GSA meeting that followed SVP.
There is hope if you missed getting a copy of the application.
You can find the revised version in the back of the October 1994
issue of the SVP News *Bulletin*. (This is the grey publication,
not the orange Journal.)
