ground sloth, _Megalonyx_ ??

Greetings,
        I have two questions involving the Pleistocene ground sloth,
_Megalonyx jeffersoni_.  (1) Are this genus and species still valid?
And (2) From where is the holotype of this species?
        I have two conflicting reports about the holotype; one states
that it is from a "cave in West Virginia;" the other, that it is from
Big Bone Lick, KY [which I thought was the case].
