Dear all, 

I have interest on knowing what is the technical and 
more precise definition and differences between the terms "chevron" (or 
"chevron bone") and "haemal arch". 
After Romer (1956) and subsequent works these terms seem to be synonymous for 
amniotes. 

However, is this synonymy also valid for all the vertebrates?
