Just a note of explanation here regarding 'ABSRD'...  This is an
acronym I came up with a few years back, and stands for 'Anything But
Small Running Dinosaurs'.  It highlights the fact that the BANDits
don't have an hypothesis to account for the origin of birds.  They
only have an antithesis.  In other words, the BAND (=ABSRD) stance is
defined by their opposition to the birds-are-dinosaurs hypothesis, and
they have refused to put up an alternative hypothesis of their own.
They've adopted an almost Pavlovian reaction such that anything said
by a supporter of the birds-are-dinosaurs hypothesis *must* be
opposed.
