I wonder how close to the book it'll be? (A stupid question, really, since
most movies deviate from their literary origins - sometimes to a huge
extent)
The night before Robert A. Heinlein's 'Starship Troopers' showed in the town
where she lived, I FedEx'd his widow Ginny a care package that contained two
used cigarette butts, a dirty handkerchief, and a pair of well-used
sweatsocks.
The cigarette butts were intended as earplugs, so she couldn't hear the
dialog; the handkerchief, a blindfold so she couldn't see the action; and
the sweatsocks, a gag, so the rest of the audience couldn't hear her. She
called the day after to say it all came in handy.
On the other hand, the Masterpiece Theater version of Nevil Shute Norway's
'A Town Like Alice' only deviated in one scene, and then only to give a
moment of suspense at the end of an hourly episode where the novel didn't
have one. A superb piece of work. Made me a fan of Brian Brown.
