Hmmm, maybe it can be tested.  Some _T. rex_ bones show evidence of
chronic infected and draining puncture wounds, which were presumably
inflicted by another _T. rex_. (there are no other perpetrators that are
large enough to be candidates).

If an infection that was caused by a bite becomes chronic, then that may
be a clue that _T. rex_ lacked strong immunity against it's own oral
biota.
