That may be so for your inferior American possums - but our Aussie lot
are plenty cute! Plus In the absence of nasty old placental competition,
Australian possums have evolved into a diverse group of animals.
Some of them have learned to glide, and city-bred brush-tailed possums
are often larger and more audacious than your average house cat. Some
species have not only managed to adapt to the humanly-wrought
environmental changes of the last 200 years, but have actually thrived.
Plus they're taking New Zealand by storm (take that, you pathetic
endangered therapod decendants!)
