available thesis regarding megapode super-precociality

An online thesis from 1999 by Sharon Wong is available in multiple pdfs at:

Lots of insight on what happens in baby birds that can fly upon hatching and
mama ain't around.

Interesting tidbit: "The movement of live food appeared to be an important food
recognition cue and may provide a learning experience to develop efficient
foraging abilities. Similarly, drinking was a learned behaviour, brought about
by pecking at objects floating on the water surface."

Good work, Dr. Wong!
