An excellent question, and probably one that a lot of folks on the list
have pondered from time to time.

I would contact Dr. Martin Lockley, who is a dino print expert.  He can
give you a plethora of advice.  Unfortunately, I don't have Lockley's
email address.

Be aware that some museums have a policy of not accepting donations of
fossil material that lacks provenance data.  Other museums will accept
such material, but they will put the material into their teaching
collection rather than into their research collection.
