Adam's talk and presence were sorely missed. There were many other good talks that day, but you never want to miss out on a good talk! I can symmpathize with the problem with Brazilian visas also; I barely got mine in time, even after paying oodles of (weak!) dollars to expedite the process. Plus U.S. citizens have to pay an extra $100 just to apply.

Anyways, to those of you waiting on my next update, my apologies. It is mostly written, but it won't be quite ready to be sent tonight. I will most likely be able to post the remaining updates tomorrow. I have to use a local internet cafe to get online, so I try to email in concentrated bursts of productivity, rather than rack up long hourly charges.
