T. bataar or T. bataar

I got an email today with someone pointing out to me that _bataar_ is wrong 
and that _baatar_ is the right way to spell it. This s what he says:

"The reason is that "baatar" means 'hero, knight; heroic, courageous, 
valiant, brave' in Mongolian, classical Mongolian "bagatur". It is getting 
misspelled many times in many places."

I made a search on the internet and did come across _baatar_. But, here on 
the list and including other websites is always spelled _bataar_.
