Ichthyornidae
Julia Clarke's May 2002 dissertation -- a magnificent
revision of Ichthyornis (the first since 1880) --
should be in your library, David. But, briefly:
Ornithurae Haeckel 1866
Ichthyornidae Marsh 1873 (converted clade name)
= Ichthyornithes Marsh 1873
= Odontotormae Marsh 1876
= Ichthyornithiformes Brodkorb 1967
There are other synonymies and names, but this is the
essential list.
Ichthyornis dispar Marsh 1873 (converted clade name,
converted species name)
= Graculavus anceps Marsh 1872
= Graculavus agilis Marsh 1873
= Ichthyornis victor Marsh 1876
= Ichthyornis validus Marsh 1880
= Plegadornis antecessor Wetmore 1962
Guildavis tener (Marsh 1880)
Apatornis celer Marsh 1873
Iaceornis marshi Clarke 2002
As far as Ambiortus is concerned, as Julia Clarke
documents, this taxon has no synapomorphies supporting
a sister taxon relationship with Ichthyornidae
(converted clade name), and I refer you to her fig.
66.
