theropod colonies as information centres: new paper

The work of Heinz Richner, Philipp Heeb, et al. have
elucidated the concept of avian theropod assemblages
being "information centres", a concept first proposed
by Ward/Zahavi in 1973 (The importance of certain
assemblages of birds as 'information centres' for food
finding, Ibis 115:517-534). The paradigm, and
literature since 1973, is, of course, of paramount
importance for research on pre-K/T behavioural
strategies of both theropods and pterosaurs.
A new paper, further strengthening the validity of the
idea, has appeared:
Blandine Doligez, Etienne Danchin, Jean Clobert, 2002.
Public information and breeding habitat selection in a
wild bird population. Science 297:1168-1170
