Paleo/Sediment Conference in Chicago this spring...
Hi all,
I thought I'd bring it to your collective attentions that a few collegues
and I are thinking of putting together a paleontology and sedimentary
geology conference at either the University of Chicago or the Field Museum
this coming spring (2003). Details will be forth-coming, but a variety of
research (invert and vert paleo, taphonomy, depositional environments, and
sedimentary geology) will be requested for submission. The meeting will
likely be small (on the scale of Regional GSA meetings) and field trips to
the Silurian Reef complexes and perhaps some other key sites in the area
will be offered (again, details will be forth-coming). Essentially, we are
shooting for a more informal, but still scientifically "high-impact" forum
to share research with collegues and fraternize, but without the
increasingly prohibitive registration fees of SVP, GSA, and AAPG. If you're
interested in learning more about this conference, submitting an abstract,
or have any suggestions for theme-sessions, feel free to contact me at my
e-mail address. Thanks.
L8R,
Dr. Anton Wroblewski
