Some observations on Longrich's comments

Two brief comments. In a recent paper in the Scientific American, it was
argued that exaptation is the way things develop.  in that case possibly
mediolateral expansion was the way mutation developed them and they worked!
    The second item; I believe the teeth of allosaurids are serrated and I
did read somewhere that that improved their shearing capability many fold.
