infuriating Bakker
RT Bakker while being a very provocative and great
paleontologist is extremely infuriating in his Gaia
article Brontosaur killers. He come up with an awful
neologism brontophaghy. Could any one tell what
exactly it would translate to? Would that not be:
"thunder eater".
Then could anyone explain what megalosaur means?
Defines it as having a synapomorhy of a shortened
forearm. Does he mean megalsauridae=theropoda?
Could anyone tell me what is creosaurus?
Is it not a dreaded nomen dubium? Why does Bakker
resurrect it. On the whole he uses such non-standard
terminology that it is hard to figure out what he is
saying. Is Epanterias a real genus again?
thanks
EA
