What's the position of _Chindesaurus_ in the classification: a basal theropod (as it's told here) or a more primitive dinosauromorph?
Depends on where Herrerasaurus and Staurikosaurus, its closest relatives, sit. Usually they are thought to be basal theropods, but some think -- some still, some again -- that they are more basal dinosauriforms, just a little closer to dinosaurs than to Marasuchus.
