Chas.R.Knight vs Dimetrodon



       There is a seldom-seen Knight painting of Dimetrodon now on view at 
eBay:

       This is fun as I know of at least four different states of this 
painting. Apparently, it took a while to truly know what Dimetrodon 
(Naosaurus) looked like. Not only did Knight work on painted versions of this 
beast but also sculptures. Finally, Dimetrodon and Edaphosaurus were sorted 
out correctly.

       This was painted at the same time as the famous fighting Laelaps 
picture. What a great image! 

       This was later corrected in the skull department and is still on view 
at the AMNH (click on ARTWORK then hit the fifth button from the left on the 
bottom row after the download is finished):
