Re: birds DID NOT evolve from therapods

Aw ... it's a pity such an esteemed opinion does not also have a proper name
attached.

<Such self-appointed ?experts? as Thomas Holtz, Jaime Haedden, Mickey Mortimer,
Tim Williams, and
George Olshevky seem barely able to disguise theiur contempt for such a
esteemed, world-respected
scientist as John Ruben.>

And boy am I flattered to have been included in this, thank you! However, my
name is Jaime A.
Headden, please. Us Irish boys take our pride in our names.

<Therapod dinosaurs were COLD-BLOODED. Didn?t you read his two papers in
Science...??? No I
suppose not - too busy spitting venom at Ruben and co.>

And spo you're telling me all you've read are two _Science_ papers on the
subject? Pity you did
not look at the science, either, or the countlkess other papers in refute of
those published by
Ruben et al. and Jones et al., but I would like to know what makes you think a
bunch of bones in
the ground and a baby theropod can make you assume theropods were cold-blooded?
You should read on
the list the issue between cold- and warm-bloodedness to know that there aren't
just two sides to
this coin, and Scipionyx is in the middle of it. Ruben et al. got a little
actual facts wrong,
including crocodile pelvises, and these have been _detailed_ just for you....

<Not content with putting feathers on therapods now you want to put wings on
them as well. Yeah,
that?s right Tom ? velociraptor could fly. Just like Superman. Dream on!>

Aw ... another person who thinks wings = flight.

<JH - your nonsense about therapod biomechanics only reveals the extant of your
ignorance>

I would like to know where you get off saying this? I would be the first
person to admit that
something I said was wrong, or derived erroneously. I'd like to know what
exactly you base your
opinion on that I have demonstrated any ignorance? Have you data that indicates
this, in any way,
shape, or form?

  To the list,

What has just been written here (what I have replied to) merely indicates the
measure to which
proper analysis should be taken. What Primal Dude wrote is not in any way a
proper report of what
a person feels is a refutation, but a grandiose and generality-driven statement
of support for a
single side without consaideration of the opposition. Primal Dude scribed a
line in the dirt, and
stepped over it. Those who support the theropod origin of birds did not.

  I'm done for now,
