I had a question ...
If George uses the classic crown group name Aves to correspond to all
archosaurs closer to
*Corvus* or *Passer* than to *Crocodilus*, then what happens to the use of the
word "bird" which
is classically associated with the name Aves since Linnaeus? This does not seem
to be a matter of
"educating the public" but rather a matter of establishing all stems based on
only the living
members, which contradicts the fossil inclusion.... It is doubtful anyone would
use the
redefinitions in such a manner.
