We've actually done this. One of the volunteers got an MRI of a dolphin
skull we have. I haven't seen the results, but understand it came out
well. Um, or maybe it was a cat scan. I'll have to check if anyone's
interested.

Just been reading one of the chapters in 'The Complete Dinosaur' where it mentions that MRI techniques are just becoming possible to analyse fossil skeletons and it then went on to talk about immersing the specimen in oil!!! Is that the real fossil they're using and if so, doesn't that do damage to it?
