Paleo of National Parks Volume
Hi All -
A new publication has been released:
Santucci, V.L. and McClelland, L. 1999. National Park Service
Paleontological Research, Volume 4. Geologic Resources Division Technical
Report NPS/NRGRD/GRDTR-99/03, U.S. Department of the Interior, 126 pp.
Interestingly, the majority of papers in this volume are devoted to
vertebrate paleo; many would be of interest to the list members:
---------------
An aetosaur (Reptilia: Archosauria) from the Upper Triassic Chinle Group,
Canyonlands National Park, Utah (A.B. Heckert, S.G. Lucas, and J.D. Harris)
Non-marine trace fossils from the Morrison Formation (Jurassic) of
Curecanti National Recreation Area, Colorado (A.R. Fiorillo)
Fossil birds of Florissant, Colorado: with a description of a new genus and
species of cuckoo (R.M. Chandler)
Probable reptile nests from the Upper Triassic Chinle Formation, Petrified
Forest National Park, Arizona (S.T. Hasiotis and A.J. Martin)
New discoveries of Late Triassic dinosaurs from Petrified Forest National
Park, Arizona (A.P. Hunt and J. Wright)
Continental ichnofossils from the Upper Jurassic Morrison Formation,
Western Interior, USA: what organism behavior tells us about Jurassic
environments and climates (S.T. Hasiotis)
