Well, receiving death threats over the phone is not just an "accident" like two
cats' necks being broken.  And the fact that they were HIS cats, lying with
broken necks on HIS porch is really suspicious.  How did the cats get there?  
Did
they fall out of a tree, break their necks and then ants carried them to his
doorstep?  Or were they zombie cats?  Face it, once you break your neck, you're
pretty much immobile.  I guess once in awhile you wouldn't be... but two cats in
the same yard on the same day?  Last weekend a very good friend of mine fell off
a roof and broke his neck.  He died instantly.  Those were two lucky cats if 
they
could still drag themselves to his porch before expiring.

I don't think this is a case of paranoia, but an actual case of someone being 
out
to get him.  Another thing to consider is that the article is attempting to make
a hero out of the officer.  If there's no conflict, where's the story?
