Dinosaur TV Week

Here are some highlights of U.S. national television
programming concerning dinosaurs (both extinct and
extant), other preshistoric animals and evolution,
from high art to low trash and (hopefully) back again,
all times Eastern (check local listings to confirm):

Sunday, February 6

Discovery Channel, 9:30am
Bonehead Detectives of the Paeloworld
"Reptile in the Family"
Kid's show. Reptilian roots of mammals.

TRAVEL Channel, 4:00pm
Trailblazers
"Mongolia"
Includes discussion of dinosaur eggs.

Monday, February 7

History Channel, 10:00am (rebroadcast 3:00pm)
In Search of ...
"Missing Link"
Evolution vs. creation. If this is the Nemoy show,
I'm sorry. Live long and prosper.

Thursday, February 10

FOX, 8:00pm
The Lost World: Jurassic Park
I may be the only person on this planet or any other
who thinks so, but this is a more fun movie than the
equally-ridiculous, rather tedious first one. Three
hours long, some of which will be commercials but
perhaps some additional footage will be included to
get you to watch (pure conjecture).

Saturday, February 12

American Movie Classics, 6:00am
Godzilla vs. Destroyer
Godzilla, near critical mass, dukes it out with a
creature whose very name suggests that it's not very
constructive. Rubber suit hell -- a true stinker.

Sunday, February 13

Discovery Channel, 9:30am
Bonehead Detectives of the Paeloworld
"Dino-tanks"
Rightly afraid of entering Grozny. Stegosaurs,
although from the title you'd think it would be
ankylosaurs.

May we all survive our own little mortar attacks,
