Here are some highlights of U.S. national television
programming concerning dinosaurs, other prehistoric
animals and evolution, from high art to low trash and
(hopefully) back again, all times Eastern (check local
listings to confirm):

Monday, July 5

Discovery Channel, 1:00am (rebroadcast Sunday, July
11, at 6:00pm)
Warrior Island: Matisse II
What a mouthful.  Whatever this is, this particular
episode of it features a look at the evolution of
pygmy species. 

Sunday, July 11

ABC-TV, 7:00pm
Loch Ness
Ted Dansen is a "beleaguered Los Angeles zoologist"
whose "career hinges on disproving the existance of
Scotland's Loch Ness monster."

(So, when the last surviving Loch Ness plesiosaur
drags itself out of the Loch and rests its little head
trustingly on his knee, old Ted in an exhibit of
self-preservation will presumably unsheath his trusty
machete and apply a little of Darwin's medicine. 
"Nope, no monsters here," hurriedly wiping the blade
on his pant-leg.)

American Movie Classics, 10:00pm
Valley of Gwangi
Cool allosaurs of the Old West.  Plus that little
Eohippus.
