 Here comes trouble with a capital T
 Tired of hunting innocent, cute, fuzzy-wuzzy fauna? Looking to bag the
ultimate in herbivore? Or maybe place a really big Tyrannosaurus-head
trophy
on your wall? Most of all, did Trespasser disappoint you? For a mere
$19.95
you, yes you, can hunt the most awesome predators ever! Carnivores is
here,
so lock and load!

Forget the story, it's weak and more than a bit silly. Just imagine the
chance to use futuristic weaponry to bag the thunder lizards of your
dreams.
Yes, this is a hunting game. But this is actually a very fun hunting
game,
and well worth a serious look.

 This is what happens if you miss that Allosaurus
 Unlike all the other hunting games, this one tracks your score. You
begin
as a Novice, and as you bag the creatures available, you eventually get
enough points to become Advanced, where three more dangerous types of
prey
open up. Eventually, you can reach a ridiculously high score and fight
the
ridiculously hard to kill Tyrannosaurus Rex. There are six large
locations,
three weapons, tools that make things much easier (but detract
significantly
from your score) and seven species of dinosaurs waiting to play with.

 The sniper rifle helps you hit 'em where it hurts... the eye!
 While the scoring system artificially extends the life of the gameyou
will
want to hunt that T-Rexthat's OK because the game is actually pretty
fun.
Not in a Quake way, but in a Deer Hunter to the nth degree way.
Dinosaurs
are modeled for sight and hearing, so even if you spot a lumbering
Triceratops, you may have to do some serious sneaking to range a good
shot
on him. Plus there is the danger of you being the hunted. I fired a shot
at
a stegosaurus, missed, thus unknowingly announcing my tender presence to
the
nearby Allosaurus who ate me up quick.

With graphics that are very good for the genre (3Dfx is the only
acceleration choice, however), superb sound, friendly menus, challenging
and
surprisingly fun gameplay, and the typical hunter series' low-low price,
it's hard not to recommend Carnivores. Hunting comes to the masses, and
this
one has teeth!
