Hoping not to stray too far afield, I will only note
based on personal experience that boys with interest
in dinosaurs are also interested in these supposed
"girly" aspects of dinosaur study, not to mention that
girls who like dinosaurs also appreciate a good
feeding event or intraspecific combat now and then.

Note frinstance that Karen Chin is the master of a
certain thing that only boys are stereotyped as
showing a goofy interest in.  (Elegantly stated, no?)

I admit though that it *does* seem de rigeur for a
young man new to the list to ask the musical question,
"hey man, like, couldn't T. rex kick Giganotosaurus's
butt?"
