Ugh! Why do I start thinking of these things at 2 o`clock in
the morning??? Cycads were restricted to warmer enviorns (meaning Southern North
America in the Cretaceous...right?). So,...it seems, were Sauropods. Does this
imply that Sauropods might have fed upon Cycads (fronds that is,...as the fruits
were poisonous??). Were these fronds potentially more digestable, and/ or
nutritious than conifer needles? More succulent? Where would Sauropods get
their water requirements in a conifer forest ?(implying a xerophytic
enviornment). Would cycad fronds store more "juice"?
(disclaimer...if I spelt anything wrong, or have said anything
botanically incorrect, it is because half of me wants to go back to sleep!) See
you when day breaks...LF.
by the way,...visit my website,...yes, it`s still there: http://www.capital.net/~larryf/ ...and
see what I think.
