chicken bones and the likes

Well I am glad some one asked this question. Because this upcoming semester,
spring. I am going to do a mammalogy type class. Boiling bones and doing skin
study specimens. But no chickens here I hope. I was told that for paleo, I
should use on Emu and a Crocodile. I might be able to get my hands on an
Ostrish. Is there much difference in the two( emu and ostrish) skeletal wise?
And also does anyone know how to prepare lizard and bird skins for study skins?
My professor/advisor knows how to do the mammals. This will help me out a
great deal. Thanks to all those that reply.
