  Since vertebrate paleontology positions are few in number and difficult to
obtain (as well as low-paying), and it's impossible to predict future trends
along these lines visa-vi funding for the sciences in general (and sciences
dealing with evolution in particular). You will find yourself facing a lot of
these problems alone, I'm afraid. Perhaps you might consider networking with a
fellow enthusiast like Jessica, who sounds as if she is facing the same type
of challenges. DV.
