Re:Rookie Questions

Just a reminder,
While I agree with almost all of these comments, especially about library
research, remember that all teens (and adults, for that matter) do not have
access to the same resources. There was no way that my parents could have
purchased multiple books (or even one, for that matter) that cost $100. Luckily
I had a great local library, but many people do not. It can take a really long
time to get a book like _The Dinosauria_ through interlibrary loan. Many urban
colleges have become restrictive with library resources.
It's my sincere hope that none of you have had these sorts of problems, and
everyone has had an opportunity to at least educate themselves. However, let's
not forget that this list also provides intellectual stimulation that may not
be available through the educational system: the simple act of discourse, no
matter how mundane, with intellectuals and scientists.
Please don't get me wrong, I really owe a great debt to paleontologists. I
haven't met one of you yet who hasn't been warm and willing to help full my
head with wonderful things. To some of us, it's like a feast after years of
famine- and it means so very much.
