times Eastern (as all times should be): the full spectrum, from high

Monday, September 7

ENCORE, 1:20am (late night Sunday; oh brother)
Clan of the Cave Bear
Huge, lanky, blonde Cro-Magnon chick falls in with some Neanderthals
and is resented by them for her evolution.  Should be required viewing
in all physical anthropology courses.

The History Channel, 6:00am
The Mighty Mississippi
"Born of the Ice Age"
Ice Age origins of the great river.

Tuesday, September 8

Legends of the Isles
"The Loch Ness Monster"
Scottish plesiosaur, or mosasaur, or log.

Island inhabitants who use only acronyms when discussing dinosaurs,
many of them sporting impressive beards, frighten small children and
others.

Special effects wizard takes revenge on director.  Sounds like the
fantasy of more than one person involved with more than one dinosaur
movie project.

Biography International

A bio of Chuck.  We almost had duelling Darwins this week; as it is,
we have a Darwin sandwich.  Delish.

USA Network, 3:30am (need I say it?)
Dinosaur Island
Airmen land of island inhabited solely by beautiful, kinda easy cave
women and carnivorous dinosaurs.  Hey, who stole the keys to my psyche?

TBS, 6:00am
The Last Dinosaur
Aging big-game hunter goes beneath the polar ice cap to hunt the last
dinosaur, a tail-dragging Tyrannosaurus rex that, honestly, is about
the size of Godzilla.  Has anyone actually CHECKED under the ice cap? 
Might be worth it...

History Channel, 8:00am
History Showcase
"The Mammoth Site: After the Big Ones"
Hot Springs, South Dakota.  The mammoths and the Dakota Dinosaur
Museum too.

Discovery Channel, 9:00am
Bonehead Detectives of the Paleoworld
Children's program about paleontology.  This epiode: "Flying Fossils"
-- scientists debate the dinosaur origins of birds.
