It is well-known that the original "dinosaur" tracks were physically
altered one evening.

There are photos extant which were taken decades ago that show them to
have had, for example, four toes.

In the dark of night, "someone" came and dug out a fifth toe on certain
tracks. Voila! Instant human footprints.
