NEED BIRD RESPIRATION REF

In Avian Biology II 1972, p. 299, R. Lasiewski says that the largest changes
in bird ribcage volume during respiration occur in the posterior ribs. Alas,
he does not give a clear reference to the source. Anyone know studies
detailing rib-muscle function in birds?
