Is this actually that curious?  I was under the (not terribly extensively
informed) impression that the majority of skin impressions off dinosaurs were
not scaled per se, but were textured with bumps or nodules or scutes.  Am I
way off, here?  Are there fossil impressions of dinosaurs that are scaly in
the classic lizard/snake sense?
