Agree. (mostly be cause Crichton has already begun penning the

Can't agree.  That's what he said in '93 too, when he ran away from 
JP in an effort to look serious to clinch the Oscar (it worked -- 
then he did TLW).  He's making a number of "serious" movies this 
year, so he's probably running away from the cash cow -- and the 
movie he probably really enjoys more anyway -- to be taken seriously 
again.  

Anyway, he's always regretted not being involved in the Jaws sequels, 
which as a result were laughable movies, because people always 
associated him with them even though he was totally uninvolved.  Now 
that he's made two of the JP pix, he's stuck, IMHO, with #3 too, his 
pre-"Amistad" posturing notwithstanding.  Let's hope so; the only fun 
thing about these otherwise really stupid, horribly written movies 
are his dynamic action sequences involving magnificent special 
effects (great effects would be useless without him -- for examples, 
go see any B monster movie).
