[ Ordinarily I wouldn't have accepted a message like this -- I'd have
  spiked it under moderation rule #1 -- but it seemed like a good way
  to push hard on the buttons that might make people tell me if they
  think the biographical material thread has been going overboard.

C'mon guys, this smacks of marriage bureaus, or soliciting. It's real nice 
knowing I can pick and choose the colour of my palaeontlogist's hair and eyes.
