You got me there.  To me, some papers which quote tooth "grooves or marks",
look like just preparators mistakes :-)  However, here are some references
which may help you to decide on teeth marks:

W.A.S. Sarjeant  (198?).  Terrestrial Trace Fossils.  A study of cuts,
grooves and other marks on recent and fossil bone I: Animal tooth marks.

P. K. Bigelow (1994).  Occurrence of a squalid shark (Chrondrichthyes:
Squaliformes) with the pinniped >Allodesmus< from the upper Miocene of
Washington.  Journal of Palaeontology 68:680-84.

G. Haynes  (1983).  A quide for differentiating mammalian carnivore taxa
responsible for gnaw damage to herbivore limb bones.  Paleobiology  9(2):
164-72.
