NJ Amber site trips?
Living on Long Island, with a ten-year-old-boy interested in (surpruse)
paleontology, we don't find much by scratching on our ice age flood plain,
but we read about NJ amber sites and have picked up some pieces from other
parts of the world with embedments of leaves and insects from Maxilla and
Manduble (on the next block from the AMNH). Having heard about New Jersey
amber, and being unable to afford a fossil hunting expedition to Montana
(although we are members of the Museum of the Rockies), Canada or to go
beachcombing on the Baltic, we were wonderimg what and where were the NJ
amber sites, and would a trip there be worthwhile? We would welcome any
suggestions.
Sincerely, Carleton Palmer
