Re: Models + Dinosaur Society

A number of good dinosaur models are available, for example, those
made by REAL DINO (a Japanese company). Some of these model lines are
available from the Dinosaur Society. I suggest you call
1-800-DINO-DON to request a Dino Soc'y catalogue.

The Dinosaur Society does not have a WWW page (yet?). Believe me,
this is something we have been thinking about (I personally have been
urging it), but we have limited personnel, and everybody involved is
already quite busy with other projects. Also, although we probably
could produce a Web page for a fairly reasonable price, especially if
we were lucky enough to get someone to donate space on a server, most
of our financial resources are targeted at (1) our grant programs for
paleontologists, artists, and other dinosaur researchers; and (2) our
existing publications and product review programs. Still, I think we
will move onto the Web eventually; first, however, the Society itself
needs to get an e-mail address! (And we will, eventually.) I'm also
trying to add coverage of Internet-related dinosaur phenomena to *The
Dinosaur Report*. There's a review of the Berkeley WWW museum in the
current issue, and more Web material is planned for the next (coming
soon). Also, the illustrious op of this mailing list has agreed to
pen an article about this very group, so look for that too.

What do you mean about "waiting since January" after mailing a letter
to the Society? What did you ask for? (Believe me, we're still
"here" (actually, I'm in Pittsburgh; they're in NY) -- we're giving
away $300,000 in grants this year.) If you have a question about
membership services, call 1-800-DINO-DON and press the appropriate
button.

Thanks for your interest in the Dinosaur Society.
