A clarification...  I didn't actually see the entire message before it
was posted.  I told Sue that I thought it would be ok for her to
tastefully advertise her product here since I figured many people
might be interested to know about it.  However, I also wrote to Sue:

   In the opening paragraph of your message, I would like for you to
   ask people to write to me if they have any strong feelings about
   the appropriateness of your message.  If they do, I'd like to know
   specifically what they did/didn't like about your message in the
   hopes that I can use that information the next time someone asks
   me.  You can quote any part of this message if you'd like.

Since she didn't quite do what I'd asked, I'm taking this opportunity
to solicit opinions.
