Truth is stranger than fiction
*you just might want to file this as too-wierd-to be-true*!!
These are actual exerpts taken from the May 10 1995 Hamilton Mountain
News.(for those of you who don't know where Hamilton,Ontario is,it's
an industrial town about 60 miles sw of Toronto). The religion section
featured an Evangelist Preacher named Steve Rudd and he has some
interesting things to say:
(Quote) Dinosaurs are mentioned in the Bible."
(for space some passages are edited--not significantly, though.)
(quote)
"the Bible mentions two dinosaurs by name and describes them in
great detail."Behemoth"(Job 40:15-24) and Leviathan (Job 41:1-34).From
the description found in Job,scientists have attempted to identify these
animals. They believe "Behemoth" is a hippo and "Leviathan" is a
crocodile."
"I believe a better choice is that behemoth is a Brachiosaur type
of large land dwelling dinosaur. It fits the description
perfectly"."Second Leviathan cannot be a crocodile but is probably an
Elasmosaurus type of large water-dwelling dinosaur." (it's a marine
reptile,actually).
he goes on to say:
"The Paluxy River in Texas, home of Dinosaur National Park...."
"Right beside the dinosaur tracks are three sets of human fossil
footprints and a large cat track...The most famous track is the Taylor
Trail.."The evidence is so convincing that several University students
recently presented with all the data accepted that the human footprints
were real, but doubted the dinosaur footprints were genuine."
Then he says:
"All the fossil footprints in the park are genuine.""No informed
person would ever suggest that the human foot prints were carved as
was rumoured 50 years ago."
His big conclusion is as follows:
"It is clear that man and dinosaur lived together and co-existed
at the same time." "With this, both science and the bible agree".(since
when?)
What is this lunatic trying to accomplish?I feel he is trying to
undermine all of the invaluable work Palaeontologists have
done.Further,his attitude,I feel,belittles all scientists.
I hate seeing this kind of "information" being published in local
newspapers. It's irresponsible.Sure, everyone is entitled to their
beliefs, but why would a person in a responsible position,a man of the
cloth,no less,write such incindiary clap-trap?
I find it impossible to believe that there are still "throwbacks" such
as this in the '90's!.His claims are unfounded and ludicrous!People such
as this must be stopped!
