Boy am I loquacious tonite! I suspect part of the reason tails of dino 
toys touch the ground is to give them a tripod to stand on! Plastic 
tyrannosaurs accurately depicted would tip over with every breeze.
        As for trilobites, the real fossils are better than any plaster 
model and if you have a Phacops rana that occurs by the thousand in some 
locations in upstate NY (sorry Derek), take it to a precision casting 
place and have them put it in a thick coat of slip, burn the fossil 
(limestone) out and fill the mold with your favorite metal ($300 for 
gold, $15 for silver, ??? for stainless steel or brass. I would noit do 
this for anything valuable but this and srinoid buttons in sterling would 
make great jewelry, lost wax (sorry, lost calcite) process.
