The question concerning Aves seems to be not with regard to its retention, but
its rank. Even in a less than strictly cladistic taxonomy it is difficult for 
me to feel good about a taxon of equal rank to one which contains it 
phylogenetically. But, be that as it may, the real outlaw taxon here is the 
Reptilia. Of the various schemes suggested, all render the Reptilia rather 
whimsical.
