I'll turn this car right around!
Up to now I think we've been pretty fortunate about the list staying
on topic and everybody getting along, but things seem to be spiralling
a bit out of control, so I'd like to try to put the brakes on a bit.
First off, Larry Smith and I had a very productive dialogue yesterday,
and I'm willing to personally vouch for him that he's not the bad
neighbor he appeared to a lot of us recently. I'd like to ask
everybody -- including Merritt Clifton -- to consider that episode
water under the bridge. Furthermore, Larry's crusading for a cause
that I think we all can agree upon -- we're here to discuss dinosaurs.
I'd like to ask that everybody think at least twice before sending any
messages to the list, and when you do, ask yourself both times a) will
the message be of general interest and b) will everything in the
message be of interest to a group whose major common concern is the
study of dinosaurs.
Thanks,

P.S. I've been made aware of some strangeness in response to messages
sent to the list (e.g. multiple copies sent back to authors). I'm
looking into it, but my ability to correct it may be limited because I
think that the problem is coming from someplace else.
