It can't be renamed just because it has an "incorrect" name (i.e., the Latin
does not match the animal).  For example, Basilosaurus is an early whale!
In the end, it's just a name, not a description.  

Of course, Protoavis may be thrown out anyway if it refers to a jumbled mass
of bones of different types, as some have suggested.
