I have no trouble picturing quad launch from the ground (which is very
likely proof that I don't understanding it :)  What I'm wondering is if
there is a plausible water launch scenario.   (Presumably very splashy.)

If there isn't, I'd think that would have substantial ecological
implications for the presumed pterosaurian fisher eaters.
